Transitional Care Unit Receives Circle of Excellence Award
Release date: 7/14/2010
The Transitional Care Unit consistently achieves excellent reviews from rating agencies--and patients.
The staff of the 17-bed Transitional Care Unit (TCU) celebrate the unit’s latest accolade—Underwood’s TCU is the only TCU in New Jersey to receive the Circle of Excellence Award from the National Association Directors of Nursing Administration /Long Term Care—for the second straight year.
This award signifies that the TCU has achieved deficiency-free surveys from the NJ Department of Health and Senior Services since it opened in 1998.
The newly-renovated unit provides post-hospitalization care for the adult and geriatric resident who requires skilled, or rehabilitative care. The unit features private rooms, in addition to comfortable living and dining areas. The patient care team includes physicians, nurses, certified nursing assistants, physical and occupational therapists, respiratory and speech therapists, pharmacists, activity therapist, dietician, case manager, and social worker.
