Barbara Roehl, MD, MBA Named Chief Clinical Integration Officer

    Barbara Roehl, MD, MBA, has been named the chief clinical integration officer for Underwood.  “In this new role, she will assist the hospital in meeting the challenges of healthcare reform and the new era of greater accountability in health care,” announces Eileen K. Cardile, president and CEO.

    Barbara Roehl, MD, MBA, has been named the chief clinical integration officer for Underwood.  “In this new role, she will assist the hospital in meeting the challenges of healthcare reform and the new era of greater accountability in health care,” announces Eileen K. Cardile, president and CEO.

    Since 2006, Dr. Roehl has served as the assistant director of the Family Residency Program and as medical director of the Acute Care of the Elderly (ACE) unit.  She will continue to provide support to these two programs in addition to her additional responsibilities of:

    ·         Providing medical direction, education, and vision for patient care

    ·         Evaluating, designing, and implementing ways to provide feedback and improve patient outcomes

    ·         Working with the hospital, our Family Health Centers, and other health care providers to create a unified network of support for patients

                    A graduate of the MCP-Hahnemann University School of Medicine (now Drexel), Roehl completed her Family Medicine residency at Underwood.  Then, in 2006, upon completion of her geriatrics fellowship at Jefferson Medical College, she returned to Underwood.   

                    Prior to medical school, Roehl attained her MBA from The Wharton School at the University Of Pennsylvania. St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center.  Her work experience also includes serving as the government and community affairs associate for St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York City.
