And our cardiac team has a Door-to-Balloon time for emergency cardiac care of just 59 minutes, while the national benchmark is 90 minutes. Every minute counts during a heart attack because time means muscle.
Five-star transitional care
After surgery, illness or injury you may need some extra time to get back to your active life. Our Transitional Care Unit (TCU), also known as a sub-acute care facility, is designed to meet the needs of patients who do not require the full resources of acute hospital care but are not quite ready to be discharged. Our TCU helps bridge the gap between the hospital and your home or long-term care facility.
Since 2008, our TCU has consistently been rated as a five-star facility by Medicare, which means that all our patients can be assured of minimal disruption and optimal continuity of care (Link to Transitional Care Unit).
Like the other 350 nursing homes in NJ, the TCU undergoes a surprise annual inspection by the NJ State Department of Health. Our TCU is the only facility in New Jersey that has been deficiency-free for 14 years—since the day it opened.
