ADOPT-A-NURSE Program
In
response to the national concerns over the expected shortage
of nursing personnel and to assist in hospital nursing retention
and recruitment efforts,
Underwood-Memorial Hospital introduced the “Adopt-A-Nurse” Program
- a unique education assistance program benefiting Registered
Nurses employed by or choosing to seek employment with the hospital.
A generous scholarship and tuition reimbursement program is being
offered to students studying for a career in nursing and who choose
to make a minimum two-year commitment to working at UMH. This initiative
will provide up to $10,000 toward the individual candidate’s
RN or BSN (bachelor science, nursing) degree.
In addition, the "Adopt-A-Nurse" Program is an education
assistance initiative providing funding or reimbursement to current
nursing staff attending specialized in-service or continuing education
programs. This education assistance helps to support valuable training
in programs or technology leading to improved proficiency or skills
associated with their nursing career.
The Underwood-Memorial Hospital Foundation continues to help support
the “Adopt-A-Nurse” Program with
gifts and contributions from interested donors. If you wish to make
a donation to this important and valuable initiative, please contact
the Foundation office at (856) 853-2019.
