AUXILIARY

As auxilians, our efforts are dedicated to a varied scope of endeavors and projects. Nevertheless, our purpose remains singular in striving to improve the quality of healthcare provided to our hospital’s patients and community through advocacy, fundraising and service.

The Auxiliary Board oversees and helps direct the efforts of many who successfully, and most enthusiastically, present the annual Underwood-Memorial Hospital Golf Classic, our holiday Tree of Lights, holiday poinsettia and flower sales and the popular spring fashion show and luncheon.

These and other smaller, yet no less important, fundraising projects are valuable components in our mission of outreach and advocacy, allowing us to offer philanthropic support, helping underwrite specific hospital initiatives to improve and enhance programs or services and promoting causes related to community health and wellness such as the Oak Auxiliary’s WHALE and HELP initiatives advancing automobile child seat and children’s bike helmet safety.

Additionally, we were pleased to award auxiliary board nursing scholarships to area candidates who are studying toward careers as Registered Nurses and who have committed themselves to beginning their careers at Underwood-Memorial.
