the
second century campaign
caring for your future
Meeting needs and exceeding expectations…it sums up the very
nature of Underwood-Memorial’s vision and mission to deliver
high-quality, comprehensive health care to the community it serves. We
know that you look to us to care for your future. Therefore, we are
investing $46 million over the next three years to expand and
enhance Underwood-Memorial’s capacity to provide the high level
of services to meet the needs of a growing community.
Through the Second Century Campaign, we are seeking community collaboration
in raising a minimum of $3 million to be used toward the cost of
renovating and expanding the Emergency Department. The remainder
of necessary funding will come from a combination of long term debt
and hospital equity.

Our Emergency Department is a lifeline to thousands of residents
in Gloucester County and nearby communities. It is one of the busiest
in the Delaware Valley and New Jersey — over 52,000 patient
visits in 2004 alone. During the next decade it is projected that
this number will rise over 17%!
The Second Century Campaign seeks the largest goal UMH has ever
sought from such a broad scope community effort. We are pleased that
the immediate hospital family — auxilians, physicians, trustees
and board members, employees, and volunteers — already have
made their commitment to this important effort. We ask for the
support of the community and hope that you will consider joining
us.
Your generous support of the Second Century Campaign is vitally
important and it will certainly help us in caring for your future.
