HOPING - Helping Other Parents In Normal
Grief
HOPING is a support group for grieving parents and families that
meets quarterly to establish a network with other parents who have
expierenced the loss of a child as a result of stillbirth, miscarriage,
ectopic pregnancy or infant demise. These gatherings allow parents
to share their experiences, thoughts and feelings. In this setting
they learn the normalcy of the grief process. The group is not a
therapy group, nor are the gatherings therapy sessions. The HOPING
format offers parents the opportunity to verbalize their feelings
in an accepting atmosphere so they can in turn reach out to the newly
bereaved.
