physical
medicine & rehabilitation
The Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Department provides comprehensive
services on both an outpatient and inpatient basis.
Whether services be provided in the area of physical therapy, occupational
or speech therapy, or physiatry, our primary goal is to help our
clients learn new skills, restore function and maximize their independence.
Committed to providing sufficient staff to work one-on-one with
each patient, we bring together a team of qualified professionals
from a number of disciplines to help meet each person’s unique
needs and requirements.
The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
will be enlarged and relocated to a more convenient area within
the hospital
to better serve an increasing ambulatory patient population requiring
access to this department’s treatment and rehabilitation
services. Here we have planned the addition of enhanced therapy,
treatment
modalities and programmatic services for lymphedema and urinary
incontinence.
During the most recent several years, well over 55,000 annual patient
treatments/visits were provided relative to physiotherapy, occupational
therapy and speech therapy with an ever increasing number of these
services
(approximately 22% annually) delivered on an outpatient basis.
