donor RECOGNITION WALL

The Underwood-Memorial Hospital Recognition Wall was established to gratefully acknowledge all contributions received at the start of a new century and into the third millennium. Located in the hospital lobby, our Recognition Wall offers an impressive and a fitting tribute to donors who have joined with the hospital’s Auxiliary Board and Foundation to improve the quality of life and health throughout our community.

While the unique design concept of our Recognition Wall provides for a permanent tribute to major gift donors, it allows us to offer annual acknowledgement of those who generously support Underwood-Memorial’s Annual Fund and special charity fund-raising events.

The Chairman’s Circle acknowledges those donors who have contributed a cumulative total of $25,000 or more (since 2000) in support of Underwood-Memorial.

The President’s Circle recognizes those who provide gifts totaling $7,500 or more (since 2000) are recognized on this special section of the donor wall.

A legacy of caring….
The William Brewer, MD Society

The William Brewer, MD Society was established in memory of the founder of Memorial Hospital. Membership in this Society honors those who have remembered Underwood-Memorial Hospital in their last will and testament. In addition to providing a bequest for family and loved ones, many donors choose to include Underwood-Memorial among their charitable bequests. In so doing, they leave a legacy of caring for future generations in our community who will depend on our compassionate and quality care.

Planned Giving. Benefiting the donor and their charitable interests.
The J. Harris Underwood, MD Society

We are grateful to donors who through life-income plans such as a charitable trust or gift annuity have found a manner in which to provide themselves with continued income while satisfying their charitable interests toward the Hospital. More information about these unique estate-planning opportunities is available from the Foundation Office. Donors who choose to contribute through one of the many planned gift options are recognized through membership in the J. Harris Underwood, MD Society, named in memory of the founder of Underwood Hospital.

THE ANNUAL FUND

The Underwood-Memorial Hospital Foundation conducts an Annual Fund appeal in support of a particular hospital community outreach program, clinical service or physical plant enhancement or improvement. Our Recognition Wall includes several special sections, updated and revised annually to acknowledge those who contribute to our Annual Fund Appeal.

SPECIAL EVENTS

The hospital‘s Auxiliaries and Foundation host several special fund-raising events throughout the year in support of a particular project or the Annual Fund Appeal. Two major and, indeed, quite popular annual events are The Golf Classic – a premier tournament hosted by our Auxiliary Board, pairing great golf with good friends of the hospital, and The Ball – an elegant black tie evening of dining and dancing hosted by the Foundation. Sponsors, benefactors and major donors supporting these events are gratefully and appropriately acknowledged on special sections of our Recognition Wall.
